ALF Belgrade Philosophy of Law Week 2025, hosted by the Center for Legal Fundamentals, Institute for Legal and Social Sciences, and the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law is taking place from 24th until 28th November 2025, once again bringing together leading and emerging scholars to discuss how legal theory engages with questions of logic, language, practical rationality, and contemporary legal practice.
In contrast to previous years, this year’s programme adopts a new, workshop-based format. On 27th November, the ALF Senior Scholar Conference will be divided into three parallel thematic workshops—Logic and Law, Language and Law, and Law and Practical Rationality—running simultaneously in different venues at the Faculty of Law. Participants are invited to follow the stream that best matches their interests or move between workshops to explore different topics analyzed during the ALF Project.
The week continues on 28th November with the ALF Young Scholar Conference, dedicated to Practically Oriented Legal Fundamentals, showcasing cutting-edge work by doctoral researchers and early-career scholars on topics such as epistemic injustice, authority and rights, international law, absolute rights, and access to justice. On the same day, the ALF Student Conference “Social Justice and Law” will take place, featuring two parallel workshops on social justice and law that will host presentations by students on various topics, such as inequality, poverty, labour, gender justice, contemporary challenges of social justice and innovative technology.
Belgrade Philosophy of Law Week is organised within the ALF – Advancing Cooperation on the Foundations of Law project, connecting Belgrade, Genova, Lisboa, and Surrey. The event is held in cooperation with CEPRIS and the Serbian Association for Legal and Social Philosophy (IVR Serbia) and is funded by the European Union.
